I’ve added a nifty new, handy dandy Amazon.com store to the Uncover Your Bliss site. It features books, dvds, magazines, and other products that I love and help me take steps towards bliss. I’ve done it through Amazon.com for a few reasons: 1) They have a great selection; 2) They have a secure online transaction process; 3) I’ve been an associate for a while and it will help support the site; 4) They have an extremely robust and highly customizable personalized store system.
The Uncover Your Bliss Store has seven sections:
- On the Bliss Shelves - Recommendations from me for good resources and inspirational material
- Body Awareness - Resources that help me tune into my body and make friends with it.
- Tools - Tools that help me get in touch with my guides and my inner wisdom.
- Music - Music I’ve bought to help me meditate and send clients into a relaxed and meditative state during treatments.
- DVDs - DVDs that put me in a great mood.
- Magazines - Magazines I subscribe to that I love and that make my life easier.
- For Fun - Various products that I love and that make me happy.
I will be adding items to my store on a regular basis, so check back often!

Today’s trick is about listening to what our bodies and spirits are telling us rather than running on autopilot. When was the last time you tuned in?
Today is a great day to listen to what your body and spirit are telling you. Do you feel especially energetic? Great! Time to be creative and get some things done. Do you feel overwhelmed or tired? Today is a perfect opportunity for you to check out and get some rest. If you’re feeling tired but really need to get some things done, this is a great time to figure out what kinds of things energize you.
Likewise, if you’re feeling amped up and would like to calm down a little, investigate activities that help you relax and center. Most importantly, respect where you’re at today and do what feels right, even if that means saying no to someone else.

My mother left after visiting me for five days yesterday and after such a wonderful visit with her I’m finally getting back to catching up with my regular life. On the top of my list was participating in the Raise Your Vibes high Vibe it game so here goes!
Here are my top five methods of raising my vibes:
Seeking out inspirational material
Sometimes when I’m feeling low or when I need a boost to my vibe level, I seek out books and movies that help me feel closer to divine energy. Some great examples of old standbys are: Ask and It Is Given, Hay House Radio, What the Bleep Do We Know?, The Secret, The Science of Getting Rich, Optimist Lab, high Vibe it, and Live the Power. Sometimes just doing a Google search on “positive thinking” or “the universe loves me” can yield results that help me feel like divine energy is coming my way.
Playing/Being Creative
One of the best way to feel happy and get in touch with source energy is playing and being creative. I pet and play with my cats (who often will remind me that it’s time to give them some attention if I haven’t done it in a while), I sketch or paint, I play a video game, I cook something yummy, I watch television shows that I love, I have fun with my husband. These are all ways to appreciate the little joys in our lives and a great way to feel that we’re part of something wonderful.
Prayer/Meditation
When I pray and/or meditate, it is an opportunity for me to release my worries and take a moment to breath. It is a way for me to say, “I am here, right now, this is all there is.” By centering this way, things that may have grown out of proportion to what is really important to me have a chance to come back into focus. I have the opportunity to shift my perspective about my life and what I’m working on at any given time.
Meditation is also an opportunity for me to get in touch with my higher self, my guides, and work on healing myself. I often call in Reiki energy when I meditate and use techniques to send energy into the past and into the future where I need it. I have a ritual where I give my fears to Kuan Yin to hold for the day so I can do the things I need to do.
Sharing
As I learn and grow as a person, the difference between getting something intellectually and embodying something becomes more and more pronounced. I tend to understand concepts before I can live them and incorporate them into my life. One extremely useful way for me to embody the things I learn that gives me a great deal of energy and comfort is sharing what I know with others. I share my experiences with friends and family as well as chronicle them on the internet in the form of my blogs. One of the most important parts of the learning experience is teaching and I’ve found that by sharing my experiences I reach a much richer understanding. Sharing also includes returning things into the cycle of the Universe, so giving away things I don’t need anymore and sending people energy falls into this category as well.
Tuning into my body
Being present in my body is another opportunity to raise my vibes. Tuning in includes having profound sensory experiences, listening to what my body tells me about exercise, food and liquids, as well as the amount of rest I need. It also includes thinking kind thoughts about myself and acknowledging all the wonderful things my body is capable of. I go to acupuncture and massage appointments as part of my mission to tune into and love my body. This form of self care is a wonderful way to feel great.
And now my pings!

The aim of today’s trick is to help us turn around and face the things we’re afraid of. Fear is one of our great teachers–it shows us exactly what we need to work on. (Annoying, no?)
It’s time to move forward! What have you been avoiding? Sit quietly for a moment and think about one thing you know will help you move forward in your life but you’ve been avoiding. It’s time to turn around and face it. What is it about this one thing that makes you hesitant to do it? Is there something you need to do first to make it easier? Is there something that keeps you from wanting to move forward?
Take a moment to honor those feelings and then push through them and do it! Think about the relief that will come with finally getting that off your plate and meeting a personal goal. Don’t forget to reward yourself for finally pushing through your resistance.

Today’s trick asks us to look at the people in our lives and ask ourselves why they’re there.
Everyone has wonderful teachers in their lives–parents, friends, enemies, co-workers, and even people we bump into on the street all have the potential to teach us something important about who we are and where we’re going. Sometimes we’re so busy warping through our daily lives that we forget to stop and listen when the Universe is sending us a message through these people.
Take a moment today to reflect upon the great teachers in your life. Who were they? What did they teach you? Try and tune in and listen to the people around you today as well. What messages are coming your way from them?

Today’s trick is a quote from a wonderful book that explores the rituals and practices of Reiki. Christopher Penczak believes (as I do) that the secrecy that surrounds the practice of Reiki is unnecessary and it’s time to share the ideas and customs with everyone.

“In the end, whether we are engaged in ritual, prayer, or even day-to-day action, every thought, every word, and every deed is an act of magick. Our whole life is a prayer. Our whole life is magick. Those who understand this take responsibility for their thoughts, words, and deeds because they know the power and responsibility we all have in creating reality. Everything we do affects everything else. We are all connected in the magickal web of life.”

Today’s trick is about being nice to yourself! Treat yourself the same way you would treat a three year old–with tons of love and compassion. Don’t forget the fun and games!
Today is a perfect day to be kind to yourself. That means looking at yourself in the mirror with love. That means taking breaks when you need them and asking for help when you can’t face doing something by yourself. That means eating dessert and reveling in the way it tastes with total harmony and joy. That means choosing to do what is good for you with every decision and blessing all of the challenges that come up to day as opportunities to heal and grow. Remember that you deserve and draw happiness, joy, and peace to yourself with every breath. Celebrate the wonderful bounty that is you in your completeness!

I’ve written before about the importance of savoring the food we eat, but I thought I would go a little bit deeper into the subject today because food has such an impact on our bodies and spirits. The idea sounds fun, am I right?
It would be great to only eat food that tastes and looks really great, to really think about just what you want and then enjoying the process to cook it or go out and get it, to transform meals into sensory experiences instead of something to get through. Sure that sounds awesome.
And then reality intrudes and we work all day and grab something for lunch and then scrape something together for dinner and most likely we drink coffee for breakfast. Maybe once in a while on the weekends we have a dinner that we’ve been thinking about and planning and that we really enjoy. And we think, “Yeah, savoring food sounds awesome, but it takes a lot of energy to plan for.” And trust me, I’m with you there. When food is something we have to do, it becomes something we “deal with” rather than something we experience.
Imagine what kind of energy you’re sending your meals if you’re in “deal with” mode. If you’ve scraped together something that isn’t satisfying or feel guilty about eating something that really is, you’re sending negative energy into your food and then eating it. Even if you’ve just grabbed something and you’re not consciously thinking about what you’re eating, you’re still having a subconscious relationship with your food. You’re thinking that the food isn’t really important, or that you shouldn’t be eating it, or that it’s just fuel and you don’t care. The energy becomes, “I don’t care about what I’m putting into my body.”
Notice that I’m not talking about what it is you’re eating. For the purposes of this discussion, that doesn’t matter. What matters is the kind of energy we’re putting into our food. If you believe in the power of thought and if you believe that we are made up of spiritual, emotional, intellectual and physical bodies, that energy is going to affect how you process that food. Reiki practitioners often send energy to food that we prepare and eat to help us digest and metabolize food in healthy ways. Think about the movie Like Water for Chocolate. The premise of the film is that the emotions of the chef affect everyone who eats her food. The same thing is true about the energy we’re sending into the food before we eat it.

Today’s trick explores an idea that I’ve written about here before: gratitude. Here’s a quick trick for you: Gratitude is the secret to happiness. Easy to say, hard to do.

One of the fastest paths to bliss is gratitude. If we can be grateful for the things in our lives right now, few things seem out of place and we are that much closer to a state of Allowing. Thanking God or the Universe for a meal is called “saying grace” for a reason–when we are grateful for what we have, we are in a state of grace. What things in your life can you say grace over?
Here are some suggestions: your favorite mug, your soft sheets, the smile from a stranger, a bit of synchronicity that made your life easier, awareness of energy flowing in your direction, a kind word just when you need it. Take a moment today to notice these things and be grateful for them.
